ANFACO-CECOPESCA as canning industry association and seafood processors, to meet the global tuna industry at the Fourth Conference on 14 and 15 September 2009.
It is confirmed the attendance of senior executives who are leading the global tuna industry in countries like Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Thailand, USA, Ecuador, Mexico, Philippines, Malaysia, Seychelles, Mauritius, Taiwan and South Korea.
The Conference will be held under the slogan “For the sustainability of tuna” and is included in the Schedule of Acts of the World Fishing Exhibition’09.
EUROTHON, an organization comprised of the Community tuna industry will meet for the Conference in order to analyze the current situation and future prospects of the tuna industry.
Coinciding with the Conference will be held the first Philatelic Exhibition of canned fish and seafood.
ANFACO will attract the attention of the global tuna industry at its headquarters to celebrate the Fourth World Conference of Tuna ‘Vigo 2009′, on 14 and 15 September 2009, which is included in the Schedule of Acts of the World Fishing Exhibition ‘ 09.
Thus, it aims to provide companies worldwide leaders in the field of industrial processing and canning seafood, tuna fleet, marketers of tuna and its auxiliary industries, a real meeting place in which to develop various forums of discussion and debate about those issues that arouse the interest of a product is as important as the tuna.

The presence of representatives of all these countries means that countries whose production plus 90% of world production of canned tuna are present during the conclusion of the conference.
Currently, tuna is a product of great importance in the industrial sector of seafood processors worldwide, making sense of an unavoidable tuna fleet. It is also worth to note that tuna accounts for about 60% of the production of canned seafood in our country.
Spain, together with the Southeast Asian countries, led by Thailand, and USA are the main countries that lead the world production of canned tuna, a species that is also dynamically diversify into other higher value added products developed and marketed by part of the processing industry.
These data in themselves explain the importance of gathering in ANFACO leading representatives of the canning, processing and marketing of tuna and tuna fleet at Community level.

Alongside the conference will take place, an Exhibition of Machinery and Auxiliary Enterprises in which companies will be present machinery sector, apart from several industry suppliers, such as packaging manufacturers, suppliers of raw materials, utilities … between others.
This conference falls within the scope of the Forum Conservation International Fishery Products Galicia “, created by ANFACO in 1995 and since then has been organizing an annual basis, several conferences to discuss the present and future processing industry of fishery products and aquaculture, as well as the various problems and incidents that the processing and marketing of these products presents internationally. In this sense, for the organization of these forums always collects the participation of top executives of companies that lead the industry worldwide, which helps to ensure that the result of the data is very satisfactory for reaching the global dimension their conclusions.
Meeting EUROTHON
Community tuna industry will meet during the Conference with the aim of analyzing the current situation and future prospects of the tuna industry in the area of negotiations that are underway in the WTO, the liberalization of world trade, which directly affects a key product for the sector such as canned tuna.
First philatelic exhibition on canned seafood coincide with the Fourth World Conference will take place the first Tuna Philatelic Exhibition of canned fish and seafood.
ANFACO-CECOPESCA and Conservation Foundation Cluster Seafood Association in collaboration with the Philatelic-Numismatic Philatelic Cangas organizing the display under the title “canned foods: from the Salting to Keep.”
The exhibition will tour the history of food preservation, including the following topics:
